Climate provides background; forecasts describe upcoming dates
The Maltese islands have a Mediterranean seasonal pattern, with hotter, drier summers and cooler, wetter winters. A seasonal description cannot predict the weather during a particular stay. Read the current forecast for your dates.
Local differences matter
Rain, cloud and wind can vary between the islands and between forecast points. Exposure, buildings and topography also affect conditions at street or shore level. A model grid point represents an area rather than a measurement at every address.
Compare like with like
When comparing places, use the same forecast hour, units and issue time. Check whether two locality pages share a source point. A difference between two dates is not automatically a difference caused by the locality.
Climate trends need a suitable record
Long-term trends require a documented observation series, a stated period and a consistent method. Weather.mt’s saved forecast archive supplies examples from past dates; it should not be presented as a long-term climate normal or a record of measured local extremes.
Use land and marine information together
The land forecast describes temperature, rain and wind. The marine forecast adds regional wave and surface-temperature information. Conditions at an exposed shore may differ from the inland temperature suggested by a general weather icon.
